Site Updates Coming!

Hello again!

Things are hectic as ever here in our home studio. Game development and the next round of content planning is underway. Soon enough, small bits and pieces of our next projects will be reflected on our site, so you might see some subtle (and obvious) changes to things on here.

First on the block is our current shop. We’re switching store suppliers, and our new goal is for our website to host nothing but goods and services that are 100% assembled and fulfilled by us. All the print-to-order stuff is moving off-site, but will definitely return. So if you’re wondering where the store went, it will be back! In the meantime, if you have any questions about the state of things feel free to get in touch. We can still print itineraries and booklets on request, so feel free to let us know if we can help!

As for game stuff, we’ve begun the process of building out our assets library. I suspect we’ll be ready for a field test next month of all the ARG features, and we’ve got something big planned for the reveal. In the meantime, here’s a sneak preview of our latest changes.

Zoomed-in sample of our dungeon level generator. Textures and graphics do not represent the final product!

We’ve updated our dungeons to be procedurally-generated! We’re creating the “true” tilesets to be used in different regional dungeons, and the white figures are being used as stand-ins for our enemy sprites. The program utilizes a 2D orthogonal map to do all the placement and interactions, then simply projects them into an isometric environment, which you can see in the lower-right.

The ARG features of the game are tested and function as expected. Travelers will be able to see themselves on an in-game map of their adventure, reflecting their real location using GPS coordinates. The general gameplay loop we’re experimenting with now involved selecting one of several nearby IRL “dungeons” to explore, with a player reward for interacting with the “dungeon” in-person. This is the aspect of the gameplay we’re hoping to preview next month, so keep an eye on our Patreon or other social media accounts to see the announcement!

Thanks for being patient with us while we rearrange the website, hopefully we’ll have things back up and running before long!

-Graham
